we care about doing things the right way
We care about doing things the right way.
Here are some of the actions we’ve taken to improve our little corner of the world.

SUSTAINABILITY IN THE VINEYARD
All grapes, wines and production facilities for Jules Taylor Wines are 100% accredited by the world-leading New Zealand Sustainable Winegrowers scheme.
Through this programme, we minimise water, energy and chemical use, as well as outputs such as waste.
We also participate in NZ Winegrowers’ innovative greenhouse gas emissions benchmarking project.
In 2022 we bottled our first certified organic wine: The 2021 vintage "On The Quiet" Pinot Noir from the biodynamically farmed Wrekin Vineyard.

SUSTAINABILITY IN THE WINERY
All our wines are made with a minimal intervention approach. All our white and rosé wines have been Vegan friendly from the 2018 vintage onwards.
Solar panels have been installed at our winery, and 70% of vintage power requirements are fuelled by solar energy. The team are also working with a third-party certification scheme to measure and reduce carbon emissions.

SUSTAINABILITY WITH OUR PARTNERS
We are proud to bottle our wines at Wineworks NZ - who became NZ’s first certified Carbon Zero wine bottler in April 2021. They continue to significantly reduce their carbon footprint and exceed their targets in this area.
We have worked with label supplier MCC to reduce wasted paper and inks in our label production and moved to lightweight glass through our bottle supplier Chandler Glass.
You can now offset the carbon footprint of your wines for any purchases directly through our website. This is managed by Carbonclick.com who offer a range of projects here in NZ and overseas to offset the carbon emissions of our wine deliveries.

SUSTAINABILITY AT HOME
We have installed solar panels at Jules Taylor Wines HQ and any additional power is purchased from 100% renewable sources.
We have regenerated the waterway by our head office with native species that increase the biodiversity of the area and provide a habitat for local species of birds and insects.
Jules and George look after their staff and consider mental wellbeing important. Everyone works a four-day week to allow the small team to spend more time with their friends and families, and to make the most of Marlborough’s relaxed, outdoorsy lifestyle.
