Jules is our all-Marlborough, all-weather, all-in Queen of winemaking.
Born in Marlborough in the year the first vines were planted, Jules has literally grown up with Sauvignon Blanc. Deeply invested in the region and its grape growing families, she has made some of Marlborough’s best known and successful wines. She’s the visionary, the dreamer, the motivator, the joker, the chivvy-er, the taster of berries. Mother of Louis, Nico and godmother to several hundred thousand little grapes, she’s a straight talker who’s also a darn nice person.
SIT DOWN, GRAB A GLASS AND MEET THE TEAM
JULES TAYLOR
OWNER & WINEMAKER
GEORGE ELWORTHY
OWNER & MANAGER
General manager and owner with a side of winemaking, George is Jules’ hubby. We’re pretty sure his relationship with wine is less complicated. His main jobs include buttering up bank managers, peddling wares around the globe, and keeping the engine room running back home.
STEPHEN DEMPSTER
VITICULTURIST
Harvest is viticulturist Stephen’s favourite time of year, when the previous twelve month’s hard work comes to fruition. The early mornings and late nights aren’t too bad when you share them with people you can have a laugh (and enjoy a Burleigh pie) with. During vintage, he covers a lot of miles pacing the vines with Jules. The rest of the year he keeps up his step count hiking the local Wither Hills and trekking overseas.
NICK KEENAN
FINANCE
Local Blenheim boy Nick left town after school, lured by the big city and bright lights, and spent several years juggling numbers and balancing books in Christchurch and London. These days though, along with his young family, he is happier closer to home, enjoying the great local fishing and making the most of the plentiful family babysitters.
KATY PRESCOTT
MARKETING
Katy decided a career in wine was the perfect way to indulge her love of travel and the French and Italian she learned at university. She landed a bit further afield than expected though when she met a tall, dark, handsome Kiwi and moved to New Zealand. These days she is usually found cajoling Jules in photography shoots or working on digital marketing voodoo before heading for the hills at the weekend, a bottle of Pinot tucked safely in her backpack!
KYLIE MARCH
ACCOUNTS & LOGISTICS
Logistics supremo Kylie March previously worked in NZ embassies around the world, getting kiwis out of trouble and managing security threats. She recently returned back home to the quieter pace of life in Marlborough where she’s now ensuring the JTW packaging and shipping operations run like clockwork. Outside work she enjoys hiking in the beautiful Marlborough back country, or relaxing at home, restoring vintage furniture with a glass of chardonnay in hand.
