WHO IS JULES TAYLOR?

Jules Taylor is the owner and winemaker behind Jules Taylor Wines. Born in Marlborough the same year the region's first vines were planted, she's grown up alongside Sauvignon Blanc and built the business here with her husband George and a small, dedicated team. Read more on Our Story and Our People.

WHAT WINE VARIETIES DOES JULES TAYLOR MAKE?

Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gruner Veltliner, Pinot Noir and The Jules Rosé, plus a small-batch Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc and the limited-release On The Quiet single vineyard wines. Browse the full range under Our Wines.

ARE JULES TAYLOR WINES VEGAN?

We have made a conscious effort to ensure our wines are vegan, however in crafting a few of our wines we must utilise a small amount of egg whites for the fining process.

All of our current vintage wines are vegan EXCEPT the following wines:
Jules Taylor Marlborough Pinot Noir
OTQ Single Vineyard Pinot Noir

ALL of our wines are vegetarian.

If you want to know about an older vintage you've found in your cellar - please contact us direct and we'll look it up.

ARE YOUR WINES SUSTAINABLY MADE?

Yes. All of our fruit, wine and production facilities are certified through Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ) — an independently audited programme covering water, waste, soil, plant protection, climate and people. Read more on our Sustainability page

WHAT DOES 100% MARLBOROUGH MEAN?

Every grape in that wine was grown in Marlborough, and the wine was made and bottled here too — nothing shipped elsewhere to finish. Several of our wines also carry Appellation Marlborough Wine (AMW) certification, which requires the wine to pass a blind tasting by a panel of other Marlborough winemakers before release. Read more on Our Place.

WHAT IS APPELLATION MARLBOROUGH WINE?

Appellation Marlborough Wine (AMW) is a regional certification that guarantees a wine is 100% grown in Marlborough, made from sustainably certified fruit, and both made and bottled in the region. Wines must also pass a blind tasting by a panel of other Marlborough winemakers before release. Jules was a founding member of the group. Read more on Our Place.

WHAT IS ON THE QUIET?

On The Quiet is Jules' collection of single vineyard wines — made in tiny quantities from stand-out sites like the Wrekin and Altimarloch vineyards, and released only in the best vintages. They were originally made "on the quiet" by Jules as a personal indulgence, hence the name. Explore the collection.
